Uncovering the Physical Principles of Life to Drive Biological Innovation
Welcome to the PoLS research group in the Department of Physics at Yonsei University!
We aim to uncover the fundamental physical principles governing living systems and leverage these insights to engineer innovative tools for solving complex challenges in biology.
Our current research focuses on the collective behaviors of biomolecules driven by weak and transient interactions- specifically those forming biomolecular condensates.
By integrating high-resolution live-cell imaging, multi-omics approaches, and synthetic biology, we investigate how these condensates regulate cellular functions. Our multidisciplinary approach seeks to establish new conceptual frameworks for understanding and addressing biological mechanisms underlying cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
